CORINNA – Ronald “Robble” Sands, 57, died unexpectedly Nov. 30, 2008. He was born Jan. 14, 1951, in Bangor, the son of Ronald and Avis (Thompson) Sands Sr. He served in the U.S. Army during two tours in Vietnam and was a disabled veteran. Robble was a self-employed carpenter in Connecticut and Maine. He loved NASCAR and auctions, and enjoyed the people he met during those times. He also served as a foster parent and enjoyed helping teenagers. He is survived by his wife, Christine of Corinna; son, Kenneth and wife, Susan Sands, of Dexter; foster son, Bradley Theriault of Corinna; brother, Dwight and wife, Joann Sands, of Connecticut; sister, Beverly and husband, Tom Armsworthy, of Madison; three grandchildren, whom he adored, Gabby and Makenzie Sands and Johnny Theriault; a special cousin, “Mr. T” and wife, Mary Thompson, of Newport; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three children, Daniel, Eric and Jamie Louise Sands, all in 1990; and a brother, Steven Sands. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, with the Rev. Daniel Ellingwood officiating.
