BANGOR – Ernest “Ernie” W. Shaw, 75, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 15, 1933, in Bangor, the son of Clarence and Agnes (Blomburg) Shaw. Ernie was retired from Bangor Hydro electric company and also enjoyed a career in the oil and heating industry. He was a proud member of Eagles Club Penobscot Arie No. 3177 and Penobscot County Conservation Association. Ernie is survived by his daughter, Susan Walker and her husband, Galen, of Carmel; grandchildren, Kari and Matthew Walker of Carmel; sister, Doris Broad of California; significant other, Dawn Brown of Bangor and her children, Terri Hart and her husband, Dwayne and their daughter, Nicole, of Bangor, and Eric Brown and his wife, Jewel and their son, Garrett, of Ellsworth; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ed Shorey, and Donnie Crosby. In addition to his parents, Ernie was predeceased by his brothers, Melvin, Carl and George Shaw. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12.
