TOPSHAM – Marie “Mimi” Arline Fish, 73, of Forest Drive, died on her birthday, Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 7, 1935, in Bangor, the daughter of Pasquale and Dorothy Plummer LePree. Mimi attended Bangor schools. On Jan. 16, 1960, she married Richard “Dick” I. Fish. As a military wife, she traveled extensively with her family during her husband’s military career. Mimi was a homemaker, devoted to raising her family and making a loving home for her family, no matter where they were stationed. Mimi had worked for Alternative Services as a residential specialist and home health aide and for 15 years at the Navy Exchange as a personalized service clerk. Mimi always rooted for the underdog and was quick to help family, friends and complete strangers. She enjoyed bingo, yard sales and playing with her grandchildren. For 12 years she wintered in Florida and for the last five years in Zephyrhills. Surviving, in addition to her husband of Topsham, are four sons, Thomas Fish and his wife, Jen, of Lisbon Falls, Wayne Fish and his wife, Tammy, of Jay, Michael Fish and his companion, Michelle, Byrnes Nichols of Topsham, and David Fish and his wife, Melinda, of Standish; two sisters, Dorothy Moxley of Hartford, Conn., and Anita Willette of Florida; a brother, Pasquale LePree of Brewer; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Shannon. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Church, Pleasant Street, Brunswick. Interment will be after at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
