SULLIVAN – Willard James Hardison, 72, born Nov. 12, 1936, to Helen West Hardison and Maynard Hardison of Sullivan, passed away peacefully at his home, Dec. 8, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Willard was born and raised in Sullivan and attended Sullivan schools. He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Moon Hardison; five wonderful sons and four beautiful daughters-in-law, Clifford and Susan, Jim and Amy, Jeff and Lee, Martin, and Mark and Karen; six wonderful grandchildren, Cameron, James, Dustin, Amber and Mathew Hardison, and Chelsea Kinghorn and her husband, Steve; and one precious great-granddaughter, Anna Kinghorn. Willard had many close and wonderful friends. He had special music and fishing buddies with whom he shared a great bond and love. There is also a certain pair of friends who kept his love of seafood and halibut alive. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Thayer and husband, Ken; brother, Harry Hardison and wife, Sandra; sister-in-law, Rose Kief; and lots of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to all our friends at Sumner High School and Clint and Eleanor. Special love to Dr. Baroody and all the staff at Peninsula Primary Care. Our love to Cathy Lewis, Mardi Thompson, Debbie No. 1, Barry Joy, Dennis and Linda, Brian, Don and Betty, Martha and Phil, Leonard, Lee, Elliot, and Mike and The Franklin Veteran’s Club. Lots of Love and a special thank you to Hancock County Home Care and Hospice. How do you say goodbye to someone you love. We all have special private memories. We loved and admired him for his courage and will to live. In the spring there will be a private ceremony for family. There will be an open house celebration of his life 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the family residence on Tunk Lake Road, Sullivan.
