EAGLE LAKE – Melvina (Morneault) Gallant, 84, died peacefully Dec. 11, 2008, at an Eagle Lake health care facility. She was born Feb. 23, 1924, at Eagle Lake, the daughter of Joseph and June (Gagnon) Morneault. Melvina was a past member of the Ladies of St. Anne of Eagle Lake. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra and her husband, Edgar Parent, of Eagle Lake, and Rella and her husband, Roger Raymond, of Bucksport; five grandchildren, Kristy and her husband, Jason Jandreau, Angela and her husband, Chad Jager, Jonathan Parent, Neil and his wife, Wava Raymond, and Nick and his wife, Kim Raymond; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Olivia Kinney of Fort Myers, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, in 1989; two brothers, Camille and Alcide; and one sister, Geneva. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 8-9:30 a.m. Monday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Spring burial will be held May 15, 2009, in the parish cemetery.
