SMYRNA – Iva “Bunny” Stewart, 92, died Dec. 13, 2008, with her daughters at her side, at her home. She was born Jan. 13, 1916, in St. Francis, the daughter of John and Lillian (Brown) D’Anjou. Bunny graduated from Limestone High School in 1933. She was a member of many PTA’s and R.S.V.P.; Oakfield Senior Citizens since 1978; Old Town Library League and the Purple Hats. She and her husband moved from Houlton to become owners of Stewart’s General Store, retiring in 1978. She is survived by three daughters, Catherine S. Jimmo and her husband, Carlton, of Springfield, Va., Diane Bates of Smyrna and Linda “Mimi” Branach and her husband, David, of Fort Worth, Texas; 11 beloved grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, many nieces, nephews, cousins and several close friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gordon; and three sisters, Susan Willey, Dora Selbig and Victory Cooley. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Houlton, with Father David Raymond celebrating.
