ELLSWORTH – Natalie P. Johnson, 69, died Dec. 12, 2008, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, after battling cancer for more than a year. She was born July 3, 1939, in Waterville. Natalie graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1957 and attended Gorham State Teachers College. She was a member of United Baptist Church for more than 60 years. Natalie loved music and she was a member of the United Baptist Church Women’s Trio. Natalie also served as deaconess for the church, as well as serving on the Missions Board and singing in the church choir. Natalie maintained a strong faith in God, comforting her family and friends throughout her illness. She is survived by her mother, Madeline Parker of Ellsworth; one son, Joseph D. Urh Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Britt Urh-Morse and her husband, Steven, of Franklin; and one grandson, Matthew Morse of Franklin. The family extends a special thanks to the nurses, physicians and staff of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care given to Natalie and her family. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at United Baptist Church, Ellsworth, with the Rev. Scott Conners and the Rev. Dan Quinlan officiating. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.
