FORT FAIRFIELD – Ruth K. Robbins, 95, wife of the late Donald L. Robbins, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at a Mars Hill nursing facility, after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 28, 1912, the daughter of Zara E. and Leonard S. Kinney. Ruth attended Fort Fairfield schools and married Donald L. Robbins, Nov. 4, 1935. Although she had no children, she and Donald made room in their home and hearts for a love of Lovely’s. She was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church. Family and friends will remember her as a caring person with a big heart. She loved to cook and was good at it. Her warmth and fun loving sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband in 2000. Nieces and nephews that predeceased their loving Aunt Ruth were Betty (Lovely) Atkinson of Seattle, Clayton and Kay Lovely of Arizona, Bob and Ethel Lovely of Oakland, Parker Kinney of North Jay and Donna Jerry of Jay. Family members who will especially miss her are: her brother-in-law, Clayton Doak of Clearwater, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Neil and Patty Kinney of North Jay, Janet Kinney of North Jay, Brenda Cook of Lovermore Falls, Richard and Sherley Lovely of Rochester, N.H., Leo and Theresa Lovely of East Livermore, Rose and Jerry Fisher of Winterport, Glyn and Cheryl Lovely of Presque Isle, Larry Atkinson of Seattle, Linda and Gaynol Peary of Fort Fairfield; and on Donald’s side: Roy “Winston” and Joan Robbins of New Hartford, Conn., Ann Rowan of Virginia Beach, Va., Joan Cohn of Old Mystic, Conn., Dawn and James Hays of Cromwell, Conn., and Mary Ann Troy of Brewster, Mass. There are many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews who will miss their Gram Ruth. The family is especially thankful for the caregivers who have attended her both at the boarding home in Westfield and The Aroostook Health Center, Mars Hill. Family and friends may call 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted 4 p.m. with Asa Cook officiating. Interment service at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, will be announced in the spring.
