CARIBOU – Clara M. Jackson, 73, wife of Louis Jackson, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 17, 2008, at a Presque Isle nursing facility, after an extended illness. She was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Fort Fairfield, daughter of Charles and Annie (Nadeau) Cyr. She attended Fort Fairfield schools, was a communicant of St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield and a member of VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Ladies Auxiliary, Fort Fairfield. In addition to her parents, Clara was predeceased by her first husband, Buel Emerson in 1986; and three brothers, Arthur, Robert and Richard Cyr. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Buel “Mike” and Vicky Emerson of Turner, Richard and Koralie Emerson of Fort Fairfield and Louis and Lisa Emerson of Presque Isle; two daughters and son-in-law, Lynn and Roger Hebert of Caribou and Barbara A. Emerson and her fiance’, Ora Howe, of Caribou; one sister, Laura Browning of Fort Fairfield; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. A time of continued fellowship will be held at VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the memorial service. Spring interment will take place at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Clara to her family, 45 Dumond Road, Fort Fairfield, ME 04742. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
