MILLINOCKET and AMBAJEJUS LAKE – Matthew Peter Cesare, 16, passed away accidentally Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at his parent’s home on Ambajejus Lake. He was born June 10, 1992, in Millinocket, the son of Anthony D. and Ramona J. (Hallett) Cesare. Matthew’s greatest loves were flying in the PA-12; fishing on Big Beaver Pond with his dad; puttering with Papa; spending his hunting seasons with Dad, Grampa and Papa at East Branch Lake; using his gift of sarcasm with his sisters; riding in the boat with his faithful companion, Rusty; riding on his snowmobile on ITS 86 to Abol to have coffee with Randy and Linda; chatting online with his friends from Stearns High School and Maine School of Science and Mathematics, Limestone, where he was a junior; and tinkering with engines, especially the lawnmower, which he did not always put back together. MattMan ate many of his meals at Nanie and Papa’s, which was his second home. During the summertime, he loved to socialize and work at Big Moose Inn and Northwoods Trading Post on Millinocket Lake, and enjoyed hanging out with the rafting guides and skydivers. He greatly enjoyed listening to old-time country western music, which he successfully taught his mother to appreciate. Manly will be remembered by all who knew him as an “old soul in a young man’s body,” while forever wearing his Carhartt hat. In addition to his parents of Ambajejus Lake, Matthew is survived by his two sisters, Christina Cesare and her boyfriend, Flint Christie, of Farmington and Jacqueline (Cesare) Martin and her husband, Garrett, of Fort Fairfield; paternal grandparents, Peter and Brenda Cesare of Norcross; and maternal grandparents, William and Sharon Hallett of Millinocket. He will be missed by many aunts and uncles, Bret and Dawn VanDine, Cathy Cesare, Walter and Holly Pelkey, Jeffrey and Lori LaBelle, Bill and Diane Hallett, and Steven and Idalia Hallett; adoring cousins, Kelly and Emily Finson, Andrea Christner, Jennifer Galloway, Chelsea and Joslyn LaBelle, Ethan and Cameron Hallett, and Melissa Hallett; his goddaughter, Olivia Hallett; and many special friends of all ages who helped make him the colorful young man that he was. Matt was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Juanita Sally Cesare. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
