PALMYRA – Lena M. Philbrick, 89, died unexpectedly Dec. 22, 2008, at her home. Lena was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Mainstream, the daughter of Anthony and Alice (Paquette) Vicnaire. She attended schools in St. Albans. Lena was married to Laurine M. Philbrick, who died Jan 22, 1999. She was employed as a hand sewer at Northeast Shoe, Pittsfield, for many years. She liked to sew and made many afghans for her family and friends. She is survived by three sons and their wives, Walter and Janet Philbrick of Palmyra, Richard and Jane Philbrick of Summerville, Fla., and James and Rose Philbrick of Etna and Summerville, Fla.; one daughter and her husband, Abigail and Jeffrey Gordon of Cambridge, Mass.; one brother and his wife, Arthur and Doris Vicnaire of St. Albans; one sister and her husband, Alice and Leonard Wyman of Clinton; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be conducted in the spring at Palmyra Village Cemetery, Palmyra. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, Newport.
