STONINGTON – Collis A. Jones, 81, died Dec. 28, 2008, at a Deer Isle health care facility. He was born Sept. 16, 1927, in Stonington, the son of William and Evelyn (Knowlton) Jones. Collis was a valedictorian of his class in 1945, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a lifelong fisherman, known locally for his fish filleting skills.
