GRAND ISLE – Roger Bechard, 85, died unexpectedly Dec. 31, 2008, at his home. He was born July 4, 1923, in St. Agatha, the son of Denis and Catherine (Cote) Bechard. He is survived by his wife, Rachel (Gendreau) Bechard of Grand Isle; one daughter, Judy Doucette and her husband, Roger, of Grand Isle; two sons, Ken Bechard of Old Town and Jeff Bechard of Richmond; two brothers, Jean Paul Bechard of Madawaska and Ronald Bechard of Lewiston; two sisters, Yvette Belliveau of Lisbon Falls and Therese Bechard of Lewiston; and five grandchildren, Matthew, Nicole, Jericho and Jeremy Bechard, and Kim Doucette. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Gerard Church, Grand Isle. Friends and relatives may call 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be in the spring at St. Gerard Cemetery.
