DIXMONT – Betty E. (Edminster) Parsons, 78, passed away Jan. 2, 2009, at a local nursing home. Betty was born Feb. 4, 1930, in Hampden, the daughter of Leon and Hazel Edminster. Betty is survived by her son, Barry Parsons and wife, Lorraine, of Dixmont; one granddaughter, Kelly Hersey and her husband, Philip, of Dixmont; and a great-granddaughter, Kristen Hersey of Dixmont. Betty’s family thanks the staff of the Maine Veterans’ Home B Unit for the exceptional care they provided for her. In keeping with Betty’s wishes, burial will be private. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
