FRENCHVILLE – Philip Leon Picard, 79, died Jan. 5, 2009, at Caribou Medical Center. He was born Sept. 27, 1929, in Frenchville, the son of Hypolite and Elise (Pelletier) Picard. Philip attended Madawaska High School, was a potato farmer, worked for Fraser Paper and established Picard Fish Farm, Frenchville. He is survived by eight sons and their wives, Ronnie and Linda of Frenchville, Raymond and Janik of Quebec, Dale and Lillian “Lu” of Grand Bay Connecticut, John and Sarah of Terryville, Conn., Steve and Donna of Frenchville, Peter of Bristol, Conn., James and Jo Ann of Terryville, Conn., and Gary and Jessica of Frenchville; 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Euclide and Edgar “Pit,” both of Frenchville, and Joseph “Joe” of California; five sisters, Prisille Dumais of Frenchville, Rinette Gervais of St. Agatha, Leonie McGovern of Kansas, Muriel Picard and Laurette Park, both of New Hampshire; two sisters-in-law, Dot Picard and Lorraine Picard; and three brothers-in-law, Gil Dubois, Ralph Ellsworth and Edmond “Blackie” Albert. He was predeceased by his wife, Yvette Raymond; two brothers, Jean Luc Picard, Antoine “Tony” Picard; and four sisters, Claire Dubois, Ursula Ellsworth, Irma Albert and Claudette Perreault. Friends and relatives may call 6-9 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. until time of services Friday at Michaud Funeral Home, Frenchville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Parish, Frenchville. For those who desire donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Burial will be in the spring at St. Luce Cemetery.
