CHARLESTON and LINCOLN Estella E. Eaton, 100, wife of the late Earle C. Eaton, died Jan. 6, 2009, at Colonial Nursing Home, Lincoln, where she had lived the past six years. She was born April 15, 1908, in Prentice, the daughter of James and Winifred (Boyington) Toby. She was a graduate of Lee Academy, Class of 1926 and had taught schools in Burlington, Chester, West Charleston and retired from Charleston Elementary School in 1973. She had raised her family in Burlington and resided in Charleston for more than 50 years, prior to moving to the nursing home in Lincoln. She was a longtime member of Charleston Pentecostal Church. She is survived by a son, Eugene Jipson and his wife, Willa, of Burlington; two daughters, Ethel Jipson and her husband, Hershel, of Burlington and Golda Stinson of Charleston; a daughter-in-law, Ione Jipson of Burlington; stepchildren, Marion Bailey and Phil Eaton; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Estella was predeceased by her first husband, Lewis L. Jipson Sr.; a daughter, Gloria; a son, Lewis Jr.; her sisters, Iona Toby, Sadie Smith and Rita Gillespie; brothers, Basil and Phil Toby, Lotus Toby; and stepson, Caswell Eaton. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nursing home staff for the care received by their mother. Friends may call 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at the home of Jeff and Nadine Weymouth, 119 Main Road, Charleston. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Charleston Pentecostal Church, with the Rev. Ronald E. Libby officiating. A luncheon for relatives and friends will be after at the church fellowship hall. Those who wish may make donations in Estelle’s memory to Soul’s Harbor, P.O. Box 275, Corinth, ME 04427. Spring burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery, Harrington. Arrangements are by Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.
