WILMINGTON, Del. – Jamie Ellen Vose, 49, passed away unexpectedly Dec. 31, 2008, in Delaware. She was born Sept. 25, 1959, in Houlton, daughter of Bertha Mae (Cropley) Shaw and James Hannigan. She enjoyed spending hours on the phone talking with friends and family, and playing cards. She loved making people laugh and had a smile that made her eyes twinkle. She will always be remembered as a very caring person who enjoyed helping others. She is survived by her two sons, Ryan Vose and his wife, Janet, of Island Falls, and Daniel Vose of Houlton; and two beautiful granddaughters, Page and Baily Vose. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Steve Mcquade; brothers, Justin Hannigan and his wife, Pam, Michael and his wife, Tonia, of Houlton, Harry and his wife, Sharri, of Hodgdon, David his wife, June, of Wiscasset, and Max Shaw of Presque Isle; and three sisters, Ruth Vandeyar and her husband, David, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Bonnie Shaw and her companion, Bob, of Lewiston, and Tammy Blanchette and her husband, Peter, of Houlton. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins who all adored her; aunts, Georgia and her husband, Dellie Mailman, Rhoda Vesey of Houlton, Frances Holmes of Bangor, and Dola Austin of Wytopitlock; and uncles, Walter of Charlotte, N.C., and Ralph Cropley of Dover, N.Y. In addition to her family, she is also survived by many friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Bertha Shaw; her father, James Hannigan; one brother, Richard Shaw; and her grandparents, George and Frances Cropley. Per Jamie’s request, no funeral services will be held. A celebration of Jamie’s life was held with family and friends Thursday, Jan. 8, in Island Falls.
