HERMON and OLD TOWN James R. “Jimmy” Wood, 56, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, died Jan. 14, 2009, at his home in Hermon. He was born April 17, 1952, in Old Town, the son of Walter and Diane M. (Michaud) Wood. Jimmy grew up and attended schools in Old Town. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying four-wheeling, boating, hunting, fishing and his home on the water. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his “brother,” Hoover; and his friends in the Saracen Motorcycle Club, Bangor. He was predeceased by his parents; a special sister, Bertha Randall; brothers, Reginald and Richard Wood; and his mother-in-law, Patricia Holton. Surviving are his loving wife, Julia (Davis) Wood; six children, Patricia Wood, Staci Davis and her fiance, Chad Garceau, Nicholas Wood, James Wood II, Jeremy Wood and his wife, Audrey, and Beth Frost; five grandchildren, Nicholas Fernald, Dylan Frost, Makayla Morey, Jacob Wood and Joshua Wood; three sisters, Joanne Dyer and her husband, Jim, Rita Grenier and her husband, Richard, and Dee Patch and her husband, Howard; one brother, Walter Wood; a son-in-law, Jeff Frost; his extended family, Debbie and Dale Hanson and their girls, Erica and Sarah, Robert and Johnna Stewart and their boys, Kris and Travis, Terri and Dana Higgins and their girls, Jeni and Heather, and Mike Stewart and his fianc?e, Carol Jackson; many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his special friends, Lee and Kelly Hoover, Mike and Sherry Francis, Sue Neal, Jeremy and John Geib, Donna and Doug Smith, Trevor Neal and countless others. His family thanks those who loved and cared for him and allowed him to live out his life at his home, including Miki MacDonald and staff. Family and friends may visit 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where a service in honor of his life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, with the Rev. Patricia Moore, presiding. A time of continued fellowship and refreshments will be immediately afterward at his daughter, Staci’s home in Old Town.
