CARIBOU – Franklin F. Anderson, 72, died Jan. 16, 2009, in Caribou. He was born Nov. 5, 1936, in Monroe, son of the late Aner and Mina (McEwen) Anderson. Mr. Anderson served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a life member of Lister Knowlton Post No. 9389 VFW. Franklin was a self-employed mechanic and owned and operated Anderson’s Salvage for many years. He married Diana Worster, Dec. 30, 1959. Surviving in addition to his wife of Caribou, are three sons, Robert Anderson and his wife, Lisa, Deane Anderson and his fiancee, Marry Ann Brown, all of Limestone and Gene Anderson of Caribou; two daughters, Tammy Thibodeau and her husband, Jeff, and Lisa St. Peter and her husband, Phillip, all of Caribou; one brother, Alton Anderson and his wife, Judy, of Palmyra; one sister, Emiline Knowles and her husband, Larry, of Florida; six grandchildren, Michael Suire and his companion, Diane Moseley, Robert Suire, Joshua and Dylan Knoll, Terry St. Peter and Deanna Anderson; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend and camping companion, Mojo. Mr. Anderson was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Richmond. Friends may visit with the family 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, where prayer services and military honors will begin noon conducted by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
