MADAWASKA – Imelda Dumond, 93, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at a Van Buren health care facility. She was born Dec. 4, 1915, in St. Francis, the daughter of Charles and Elise (Jandreau) Melancen. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church, Madawaska, as well as a member of Ladies of St. Anne. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Dumond. Imelda is survived by her son, Gerald Dumond of Hartford, Conn.; her loving godson, Louis Albert and his wife, Marie Anna, of Edmundston, New Brunswick; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Relatives and friends may visit with the family 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Spring interment will be at the parish cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Daigle Funeral Home, Madawaska.
