MARSHFIELD – Leonard Philip “Buddy” Magee, 76, died Jan. 28, 2009, at a Jonesport health care facility. He was born March 31, 1932, in Machias, the son of Philip AJ and Rose Elizabeth (Valingo) Magee. Buddy was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1951 to 1955. He worked at Naval Communication Unit, Cutler, for 34 years before his retirement. He loved going to camp that he built on Fulton Lake golfing and building things. One of the greatest loves in his life was his dog, Taylor, who was always by his side. He is survived by his son, Gary Leonard Magee and his wife, Kathy Magee, of Machias; a sister, Shirlie Davidson of Illinois; a brother, Robert Magee of Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Candace Boudreau and her husband, Chris; and a nephew, Scott Davidson. He is also survived by his best friend, Donnie Smith; all his friends at Bluebird Restaurant; and special friends, Wendell White and Paul Berg. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a special aunt and uncle, Elzinia and Gene Bowers. In keeping with Bud’s request, services will be private.
