ST. DAVID – Roderick Belanger, also known as “Roger,” 61, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at a Bangor hospital, after a difficult illness. He was born Aug. 2, 1947, in Fort Kent, the son of Venny and Germaine (Saucier) Belanger. Roger was very proud to have been able to serve his country by serving two tours of duty in Vietnam as a Marine. He was a member of the VFW, Plainville, Conn. His favorite pastime was playing the guitar for his family, friends and church. He was predeceased by his father, in 2001. Roger leaves behind his mother, Germaine Belanger of Connecticut; his loving wife, Laurelie A. (Hungerford) Ayers Belanger of St. David; his sons, Aric Belanger, Michael Ayers Jr. and Jonathan Ayers, all of Bristol, Conn.; his sister, Carleen (Belanger) Peryga of Cromwell, Conn.; three brothers, Carl Belanger of Plainville, Conn., Gary Belanger and his wife, Libby, of Colchester, Conn., and Kenneth Belanger and his wife, Carol, of Newington, Conn.; three grandchildren, Brandon Michael, Zachary Ayers and Hannah Ayers, all of Bristol, Conn.; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held noon Saturday at Daigle Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Dube of Family Christian Center. Family and friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Spring interment will be at Wallagrass Cemetery.
