FORT FAIRIFELD and LINCOLN – Sandra J. (Lyons) Nadeau, 67, wife of Roger A. Nadeau Sr., passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 29, 2009, at a Caribou health care facility, after an extended illness. She was born July 6, 1941, in Lincoln, the daughter of Hollis and Dora (Batchelder) Lyons. She attended Lincoln schools and resided in Windsor Locks and Wallingford, Conn., for several years and was a resident of Fort Fairfield for the past 10 years. Sandra always put her family and friends first, and was always there to help when anyone was in need. Sandra enjoyed caring for her family in many ways including knitting socks, mittens and scarves, cooking and baking, especially cookies. Sandra also possessed a special love of dancing. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nadeau was predeceased by two brothers, Herbert and Paul Lyons; three sisters, Joyce Umbro, Janice Darin and her husband, Chris, and Roberta Lyons; and one brother-in-law, Louis Zieminski. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Roger A. Nadeau Sr. of Fort Fairfield; two sons, Allen E. Crockett of Douglasville, Ga., and Larry McNamara and his wife, Deb, of South Portland; one daughter, Monica L. Cole of Fort Fairfield; three stepsons, Roger Nadeau Jr., Richard Nadeau and his wife, Rhonda, all of Windsor Locks, Conn., and David Nadeau and his wife, Marci, of Colorado; one stepdaughter, Dorothy Danner and her husband, Thomas, of Windsor Locks, Conn.; one brother, Robert Lyons and his wife, Annie; one sister, Glennice Zieminski; one brother-in-law, Joseph Umbro, all of Wallingford, Conn.; 16 grandchildren, Lindsay, Morgan, Justin, Reggie, Bryan, Matt, Kyle, Kristen, Andrea, Elizabeth, Nicole, Christopher, Elaina, Eric, C.J. and Katie; one great-grandson, Christopher; numerous nieces and nephews. In keeping with Sandra’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. A graveside service of committal will be conducted later in the spring at Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Sandra to the Lou Gehrig – ALS Gift Fund, care of Columbia University Medical Center, Development Office, 100 Haven Ave., Suite 29D, New York, NY 10032. Arrangements are in the care of Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield.
