VEAZIE – Harold Millage Smith passed away Jan. 30, 2009, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness. Harold was born and raised in Greenville, the son of Guy H. and Essie R. Smith. Harold served his country during World War II, retiring from the Army National Guard with the rank of first sergeant after 35 years of service. He co-owned and operated Consumer Oil with his brother, Bob, retiring in 1985. Together with his wife, Pat, he raised four children, Ralph A. of Portland, Rachel M. Paul of Veazie, Robert G. of Levant and Rebecca M. Stevens of Rochester, N.H. Along with his four children, he is survived by his sons-in-law, Peter A. Paul and Tyler R. Stevens; his grandsons, Joshua M. Saunders, Richard L. Smith and Ryan M. Smith, all of Rochester, N.H.; a great-granddaughter, Alexia Saunders of Rochester, N.H.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Pat; his mother and father; his sister, Edna; his brothers, Albert and Robert; and his granddaughter, Jennifer Saunders. At his request, there will be family services only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, Donation Processing Center, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, NH 03086.
