HAMPDEN – Jane Harrington Rogers, “Jayne,” 63, passed away Jan. 29, 2009, at her home. Jane was born July 21, 1945, in Bangor, to the late John Evans Sr. and Barbara N. (Harrington) Harrington. Jane graduated from Hampden Academy and later graduated from college as an LPN. She worked as an LPN for many years before working with teens in transition at Homestead, Shaw House and Aspenledge. Jane is survived by her children, Thomas McAdams of Portland and Daniel Jackson of Florida; sister, Pamela Tomkinson and husband, Donald, of Naples; brothers, John Harrington Jr. and Judy of Winterport and Jeffery Stewart of New York; niece, Elizabeth Harrington of Augusta; nephews, John Harrington of Falmouth, Jacob and Jacob Tomkinson of Naples; an aunt, Helen (Harrington) Hutcheson; special cousin, Madeline Hutcheson Mayhood, both of Richmond, Va.; as well as several friends and co-workers. Family and friends are invited to share in light refreshments and a time of remembrance for Jane 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a memorial service will be held 6:30 p.m. In addition, a special celebration of Jane’s life is planned for July 2009 at her beloved Sandy Point.
