SHERMAN – Kay “Donna” Lane, 77, died Jan. 28, 2009, in Patten. She was born Jan. 16, 1932, in Sherman, daughter of Ray and Edith (Joy) Hamilton. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Donna was a former member of Washburn Memorial Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of Molunkus Valley Sno Drifters. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Lane of Sherman; five children, Richard Lane and his wife, Gail, of Island Falls, Diane Deschesne and her husband, Bill, of Presque Isle, Charlene Springer and her husband, Rusty, of Sherman, Roberta Heath and her husband, Mike, and Heidi Morse and her husband, Ricky, all of Patten; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dean Hamilton and his wife, Arlene, of Connecticut; two sisters, Coleen Brewer of New York and Joan Wellington and her husband, Buck, of Connecticut; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in Donna’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 170 Route One, Suite 250, Falmouth, ME 04105.
