HOULTON – Joyce Louise Tapley, 78, went to be with the Lord, Jan. 31, 2009, in Houlton. She was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Lincoln, the daughter of Fred and Florence (Sprague) Sanford. Joyce attended Military Street Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, James Tapley of Houlton; three daughters, Linda Forrest and her husband, Paul, of Oakfield and Florida, Carolyn Carpenter and her husband, Sonny, of Houlton, and Kathleen Bragan and her husband, Paul, of Oakfield; two stepsons, Darrell and his wife, Joyce Tapley, of Chesapeake, Va., and Wayne and his wife, Nicole Tapley, of Littleton; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Avis Savoy of Dunedin, Fla. She was predeceased by her parents; one daughter, Beth Cleary; and two brothers, Arthur “Dick” Sanford and Linwood Jones. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery.
