MACHIAS and WINTERPORT – Daniel Patrick Chausse, 33, passed away peacefully Feb. 2, 2009. Danny was born Dec. 17, 1975, in Dorchester, Mass., the son of Henry and Rosemary (Griffin) Chausse. Danny grew up and attended schools in Machias. He later moved to Winterport, where he worked as a truck driver for several companies, the latest being Wyndsaung Farms and Trucking. Danny took great pride in his job as well as his truck, as it was always the cleanest in the fleet. He was a volunteer firefighter in the Machias area as well as in Winterport. Danny enjoyed bowling and being with friends, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. Danny will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend to all. Danny is survived by his wife, Marie (Parent) Chausse; daughter, Brianna J., Chausse, both of Winterport; his parents, Henry and Rosemary Chausse; siblings, Andrew and Joan Chausse, all of Machias; a niece, Allison Chausse; aunts and uncles, Joan Griffin, Robert Griffin, Ann Sanford, and Raymond and Louise Clerc; in-laws, Jeannette and Stewart Parent; brothers-in-law, Lee and Gary Parent; cousins, Marc and Daniel Clerc, as well as numerous friends, too numerous to mention. Danny’s family thanks CancerCare of Maine and the Grant 6 nurses and Eastern Maine Medical Center for their advanced care and compassion during his illness. Family and friends are invited to call 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Main Street, Winterport. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in the spring.
