BREWER – Lucille Orcutt, 65, died peacefully Feb. 4, 2009, surrounded by family members and her dear friend and care provider, Gene Freeman. She was born May 31, 1943, the seventh child of Wayne L. and Mary F. (Driscoll) Russell. Lucille graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1961. She was employed by Viner Shoe Co. for approximately 20 years and Champion/International Paper for 19 years. A lifetime New York Yankees fan, she shared the “Pinstripers’” pride in their accomplishments. Camping with her dear friend and partner, Gene and their dog, Charlie, along with other family members, was her favorite pastime. Surviving, in addition to her partner, Gene, is her son, William Orcutt and his wife, Chom Sun, of Midway, Ga.; grandchildren, William and Steven Orcutt of Midway, Ga.; siblings, Marlene Light of Stockton Springs, Patricia Begin and her husband, Richard, of Veazie, Ralph Russell and his wife, Carol, of Eddington, and James Russell and his wife, Colleen, of Eddington; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Russell of Bangor; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lucille was predeceased by brothers, John Russell, Richard Russell, Harold Russell and his wife, Roxanne; along with sister, Mary E. Trask; and brother-in-law, Franklin Light. The family appreciates and thanks CancerCare of Maine, the staff of Eastern Maine Medical Center, Dr. Block, Dr. Reid and New Hope Hospice for their care and support of Lucille during her illnesses.
