CARIBOU – Mary G. Goodine, 91, wife of the late Hubert Goodine, died Feb. 4, 2009, in Houlton, after a brief illness. She was born Sept. 13, 1917, in New Sweden, the daughter of Orin and Victoria (Eliasson) Anderson. Mrs. Goodine was employed in the quality control/inspection department of the Birds Eye Division of General Foods, Caribou, for many years. She was a member of Caribou United Baptist Church and was also a longtime member of Lister Knowlton Post No. 9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Gilbert Longley of Caribou; three grandchildren, Michael Longley, Stacy Caron and Lenny Caron, all of Caribou; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Caron, Jennifer Lee Turnbull, Christopher Turnbull and Marisa Michaud; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Goodine was predeceased by her husband, Hubert, in 1966; two sons, Erval and Adrian; her daughter, Jacqueline Caron; and a granddaughter, Brenda Turnbull Stevens. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, where members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary will conduct memorial services beginning 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Caribou United Baptist Church with the Rev.
