LINCOLN – Myra Lynn Leighton, 42, daughter of Bruce Sr. and the late Barbara Tilton of Houlton, went home to be with the Lord Feb. 5, 2009, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Myra’s last wish was for her children to remember she loved them “to the moon and back.” Myra was predeceased by three special ladies: little sister, Donna-Sue Tilton; grandmother, Thilma “Jean” Phelps; and her beloved mother, Barbara Jean Tilton. Myra is survived by her six children, Danielle Blair and Jeff of Colorado, Laci Gilmore of Oregon, Jeremy Raye Gilmore of Colorado, Michelle and Stephanie Tilton and Breeanna Leighton, all of Lincoln. Additionally, Myra is survived by her “big” brother, Bryan Tilton and Marguerite of Lincoln; sister, Cindy Williams and John of Alton; “little” brother, Bruce Jr. and Amanda Tilton of Lincoln; one grandson, Jaydon Blair; several nieces and one nephew; her bus students, and several friends from Cormier’s, Bradford and Bible Baptist Church. Myra’s wish was to be cremated and have a simple ceremony held at Bible Baptist Church, Fleming Street, Lincoln, with Pastor Terry Upcott officiating. The service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9. Friends may call on the family before and may gather after the service to share memories and/or celebrate Myra’s life at 1145 Main St., Lincoln.
