WATERVILLE – Raymond F. Kozen Jr. passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Augusta. He was born April 10, 1919, in Providence, R.I., son of the late Raymond F. and Florence (Bodell) Kozen. Raymond graduated from Hope High School, Providence, R.I., and Colby College, Class of 1947. He served his country with the Air Transport Command during World War II. Raymond’s employment included 17 years with C.F. Hathaway Co., Waterville, three and a half years with Forster Manufacturing, Wilton, and he retired after 17 years of service with Georgia Pacific, Woodland. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Waterville in 1984. He was a member of the Rotary Club for 54 years. In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his son, John Bodell Kozen in 1958. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice C. Kozen; his son, Dexter Kozen and his wife, Frances, of Ithaca, N.Y.; his sister, Maryjane Van Horn of Brentwood, Calif.; his grandsons, Alexander, Geoffrey and Timothy; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 60 Eustis Parkway, Waterville. Spring burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to St. Marks Episcopal Church, 60 Eustis Parkway, Waterville, ME 04901.
