EAST PITTSTON – On Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, Jesse Glenn Philbrook ended his brave battle, after being injured in a house fire last March. He was the incredibly proud father of Jared and Isac, and loving husband of nine years to his best friend, Samantha. Pat and Al Philbrook could not have loved or been more proud of their youngest son. Jesse grew up on the Jewett Road, East Pittston, with his brother, Ben; and sister, Amy; as well as lifelong friends, Curry, Cory, Ian and Skye. When Jesse met Sam, he was welcomed into the Briggs family, where Sarah and Doug loved him like their own. He was also loved and will be deeply missed by Olivia, Jillian and Heather Philbrook, Doug McLean, Jennifer Maeverde and Scott Belanger. Jesse was happiest with his family. He enjoyed spending time at the camp built by his grandparents, Glenn and Mary, where he fished with his two best buddies, Isac and Jared. Jesse enjoyed cooking for his family and every Sunday he opened his and Samantha’s home to family and friends to enjoy his newest food creations as kids played and adults enjoyed watching their favorite team on the big screen. He lived life to the fullest, making people laugh, playing flag football with his brother, coaching t-ball, watching his boys play ice hockey, golfing with Gerald and Doug, as well as snowmobiling with his sons, brother, father and grandfather. In his 32 years, his accomplishments were extraordinary; as he ran a successful contracting business, built his family home, attended Maine Maritime Academy with his friend, Ryan, and was a devoted family man. He chose to build his home in Pittston, as he was a proud member of his community and was deeply touched by the truly amazing support given to his family after his tragic accident. Jesse was loved. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. Jesse left us too soon. The hurt will be forever. Thankfully the happy memories of his giving and loving life will also be forever. Friends and family are invited noon-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the home he built, 16 Oak Ledge Road. All cards will be kept and treasured, and any donations will be saved for college for Isac and Jared. Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, Gardiner.
