EDINBURG – Malcolm Dean Blake, 71, husband of Sally (Tilton) Blake, passed away Feb. 14, 2009, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Aug. 17, 1937, in Lincoln, the son of Dean and Charlotte “Lottie” (Stevens) Blake. Malcolm was a 1956 graduate of Mattanawcook Academy. He served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Robinson. He worked at the University of Maine, Orono and at Alfond Arena for 28 years. He liked to fish and enjoyed life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sally of Edinburg; a daughter, Mona Garner and her husband, John, of Willow Grove, Pa.; two sons, Pat Blake of New Jersey and Mike Blake of California; three grandsons, Josh, Jake and Travis; four sisters, Rosalie Ryder of Enfield, Muriel Cummings of Howland, Marilyn King and her husband, Phillip, of West Enfield and Joyce Theriault of Lincoln; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Kellogg; and a brother, Philip Blake Sr. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. A reception will be held afterward. Spring interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery.
