BANGOR – Marilyn “Mal” A. LaRochelle, 65, died of lung disease Feb. 15, 2009, surrounded by her loving family, at her home. She was born May 9, 1943, in Dexter, to Leon J. and Edith O. (Blethen) LaRochelle. Marilyn graduated from Dexter High School in 1961. She worked for 21 years at the Ramada Inn, Bangor, 12 years as an executive housekeeper. Her hobby was crocheting handmade afghans for her children, grandchildren and family. She loved the time spent sitting at the ocean with Bill. She loved family events, especially the monthly luncheons with her sisters. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Diane. Survivors include the love of her life, William Robinson; two daughters, Dawn Watson, and Deborah Galen and her husband, Mike, all of Brewer; three sisters, Janice Jones and her husband, Fred, Elain Cayford and her husband, Ivan, all of St. Albans, and Linda Wilber and her husband, John, of Bangor; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Tia, Shane, Marsha, and Lee Michael, all of Brewer; seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Marilyn is also survived by special friends, Betty Hafford, Blaine and Renate Robinson, and Kenny and Cynthia Robinson; and a special son-in-law, Laurence Bergeron of Brewer. At Marilyn’s request, there will be no visiting hours. There will be a memorial service 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Full Gospel Church, 1737 Exeter Road, Exeter, with Pastor Stan Griffin officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in memory of Marilyn to St. Joseph Hospital Pulmonary Unit, 360 Broadway, Bangor, ME 04401.
