OAKFIELD – Gloria “Sis” V. (Mitchell) Russell, 79, died Feb. 18, 2009, in Millinocket. She was born March 19, 1929, in Dyer Brook, the daughter of Virgil Mitchell and Lydia (Goode) Mitchell Moore. She was a very devoted lifelong member of Bethel Pentecostal Church, Oakfield. She is survived by her daughter, Jerri Crandall and her husband, Carroll; a grandson, Levi “Linc” Davis and his wife, Dora; two great-granddaughters, Chloe and Eden Davis, all of Oakfield; brothers, Clark Mitchell of Oakfield, Joseph Mitchell of Merrill, Robert Mitchell of California, Lyle Mitchell of Connecticut and Curt Fanjoy of Connecticut; sisters, Carol Carrabetta of Connecticut and Debra Fox of Connecticut; two very special cousins, Harriet Brown and Janice O’Sullivan; and special friends, Keith, Brenda, Shannon, Heidi, Paul, Mike, Dawn, Scott and girls, Chuck and Linda. She was predeceased by her husband, Dan Russell; and two brothers, Virgil Jr. and Gary. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Bowers Funeral Home, 56 Sherman St., Island Falls, and 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Oakfield, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev.
