BELFAST – Dorothy G. Burrill passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, in Belfast. She was born March 6, 1917, in Cambridge, Mass., daughter of the late Leslie and Louisa (French) Graves. Dorothy was employed with and retired from the State of Maine Department of Human Services. She was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliaries Post No. 6924, Fairfield, and Post No. 6131, Northport. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her late husbands, Franklin Livingstone, Donald Wood and Phillip Burrill; her son-in-law, Michael Sockalexis; and her great-granddaughter, Jillian Kennedy. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children, Faith Garrold and her husband, Don, Toni Clark and her husband, Jesse, David Livingstone and his wife, Shirley, Dorothy Wyman and her husband, Gene, Sally Bailey, Janet Ranco, Douglas Wood, and Denise Saller and her husband, Andrew; her stepdaughter, Catherine Hamel; her stepson, Howard Burrill; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visiting hours will be held noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, with a funeral service to begin 2 p.m. Spring burial will be at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
