CHAPMAN – Bennie W. Littlefield, 93, died Feb. 25, 2009, at his home. He was born April 28, 1915, in Chapman, son of Simeon and Blanche (Murray) Littlefield. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, Bennie came home and worked on the family farm until his retirement. He loved to snow sled and was a lifetime member of Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club. He is survived by a nephew and his wife, Robert and Karen Hilt of Chapman; a great-niece and her husband, Melissa and Brent Dyer and their children, Elizabeth and Amelia; a great-nephew, Jason Giggie, all of Presque Isle; several cousins; and a special friend, Merwin Welch of Chapman. In addition to his parents, Bennie was predeceased by his sister and her husband, Edna and Rodney Hilt; a brother and his wife, Ralph and Hazel Littlefield; and a sister, Myrtle Littlefield. Relatives and friends may call 7:30-9 p.m. Friday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle.
