HOULTON – Geraldine Derrah Lawrence, 74, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Houlton Regional Hospital. She was born March 15, 1934, in Greenfield, New Brunswick, the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Smith) Derrah. Gerry attended schools in Florenceville, New Brunswick, and Houlton. She was employed by Houlton Regional Hospital and Visiting Nurses of Aroostook as a certified nurse’s aide. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a special place in her heart for her cocker spaniels, Chelsea and Nala. Gerry is survived by four daughters, Debbie Beals and her husband, Terry, of Ludlow, Janice Brown and her husband, Sam, of Linneus, Jackie Tompkins and her husband, Les, of Hartland, New Brunswick, and Trisha Lawrence and her husband, Vince, of Orrington; eight special grandchildren, Alissa Black, Dawn Waye, Megan and Patrick Beals, Jenna and Josh Tompkins, Alex and Abbie Lawrence; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Everette Lawrence; sister, Nellie Adams; and brothers, Francis, Charles, Arnold, Clarence, William, John and Leo Derrah. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Dunn Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 1, with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating.
