URBANA, Ill. – Jon A. Robinson, 41, passed away 1:33 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Ill., after a seven-month battle with cancer. Jon was born March 24, 1967, in Orono, the son of Robert and Elizabeth “Betty” Johnson Robinson. He married Julie Faulstich, Aug. 31, 1996, in Orono. Jon was a building services foreman at the University of Illinois. He enjoyed golfing, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and a devout supporter of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents of Enfield; his son, Owen Robinson of Urbana, Ill.; his brother, Jay and Erica Robinson of Dover-Foxcroft; sister-in-law, Mary Beth and Theo van Wijk; sister-in-law, Laura and Shad Etchason; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Cathy Faulstich; nephews and nieces, Aeneas Robinson, Aiden Etchason, Aria van Wijk, Haley Etchason, Aela Robinson and Eli Etchason. He was predeceased by his grandparents. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Danville, Ill. Concelebrating will be Father Eric Underwood, Father Paul Faulstich S.J. and Father Gregory Nelson. Private graveside services will precede the Mass and will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, Danville, Ill. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, Ill. A rosary will be celebrated 8 p.m. by the Rev. Eric Underwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Champaign Public Library, Urbana Free Library or Carle Hospice. Condolences may be offered at www.renner-wikoffchapel.com.
