SOUTH LANCASTER, Mass. – Priscilla R. (Robinson) Austin, 90, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in December 1918, in Palmyra, the daughter of James W. and Ruth D. (Deering) Robinson. Priscilla graduated from Maine Central Institute in 1936. In 1966 she graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade School with a degree in nursing, and later worked as a licensed practical nurse at Clinton Hospital, Clinton, Mass. She was a member of the Methodist church in Milbridge and affiliated with Lancaster Evangelical Congregational Church, Lancaster, Mass., for many years after moving to South Lancaster, Mass., in 1957. She was a life member of Alcyone Chapter of the Eastern Star. In 1985 she was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Willard D. Austin. Her sister, Genevieve Stanley; and two brothers, Lester and Willis Robinson, also predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth M. Chambers and her husband, James, of Auburn, Mass.; two granddaughters, Jeanne Lepage Foote and her spouse, Elizabeth, of Woodstock, Conn., and Carole A. Gusko and her husband, Darrin, of South Lancaster, Mass.; two grandsons, W. Douglas Lepage and his wife, Jayne, of Holden, Mass., and David M. Lepage and his wife, Linda, of Walnutport, Pa.; and four great-grandchildren, Edward Lepage, Kayla Gusko, Darrin Gusko II and Hannah Lepage. At Priscilla’s request, there will be no funeral service or calling hours. Private burial will take place at Harding Cemetery, Standish. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Volunteer Humane Society, Inc., 505 Center Bridge Road, Lancaster, MA 01523.
