PARKMAN – Galen Ernest Tweedie, 73, died March 7, 2009, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born May 4, 1935, in Dover-Foxcroft, son of Ernest and Thelma (Clement) Tweedie. Galen was a lifelong resident of this area and served in the U.S. Air force during the Korean War. He was a dairy farmer and worked at Guilford Industries, later retiring from the maintenance department at Hardwood Products Co., Guilford. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed watching boxing. He is survived by his wife, Diane of Parkman; two sons, Ernest Tweedie and his wife, Cathy, of Florida and David Tweedie and his wife, Linda, of Guilford; four daughters, Sheila Tweedie of Florida, Nola Martinez of Florida, Dionna Toutcheque of Texas and Pattee Lazare and her husband, David, of Massachusetts; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister, Rita Ciffizzari of Maryland; nieces and nephews. He was an amazing father, husband and grandfather, and will be missed by all. At his request, there will be no services at this time. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Guilford.
