CARIBOU – Robert L. Albert, 75, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009, while surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born January 1934, in Lewiston, son of Lawrence and Aurora Albert. Bob served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and was involved in the Korean War. After his retirement he managed Evergreen Lanes as a civilian at Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, from 1984 to 1994. Bob was the first person to bowl a perfect game in Aroostook County and was inducted into the Maine State Ten Pin Bowling Hall of Fame. Bob not only served his country, but his community by completing two terms on the city planning board, a term on Caribou city council and as a Rotarian of the Caribou Club. He was a communicant of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Julie Ann (Mack) Albert of Caribou; three children, Brenda of Lakewood, Wash., Thomas Albert of Pittsburgh and Marie and her husband, Vince, of White Plains, Md.; and four grandchildren, Aimee, Robert, Jessica and Stephanie. Bob also leaves behind a sister, Joanne Albert of New Gloucester; a brother, Rudy Albert of Lewiston; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Theresa Kyajohnian, Normand Albert, Richard Albert, Donald Albert and Rita Albert. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant.
