PRESQUE ISLE – Irene E. Currier, 88, died Monday night March 16, 2009, at The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle. She was born June 30, 1920, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Fred and Maude (Saucier) Paradis. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle. She enjoyed spending time with family, knitting and watching sports, especially the Red Sox. Irene was always willing to help others in need. She is survived by her companion of 42 years, Rene Poliquin of Presque Isle; a daughter, Linda Morgan of Cotulla, Texas; two sons, Robert Currier of Naugatuck, Conn., and Fred Currier of Stratford, Conn.; two sisters, Frances Thomas and Delores Michaud, both of Presque Isle; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held in summer 2009 at Johnson Cemetery, Presque Isle. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
