NEW SWEDEN – Rosella M. Anderson, 76, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009, at a Van Buren health care facility, after a long illness. She was born May 11, 1932, in New Sweden, the daughter of Anton and Dora (Larson) Anderson. Rosella loved to crochet and enjoyed many happy times with her nieces and nephews. She is survived by three sisters, Clarice Helstrom and her husband, Marshall, of Brewer, Ina Noel of Millbury, Mass., and Evelyn Archer of Presque Isle; and two brothers, Gilbert “Mickey” Anderson of Millbury, Mass., and Clifton Anderson and his wife, Irma, of New Sweden. She also leaves behind three very special sisters-in-law, Irma Anderson, Francine Anderson and Thelma Anderson; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by six sisters, Audrey Thorsen, Viola Sturgeon, Irene Tetrault, Louise Pude, Doris Michaud and Jeannette Goranson; and four brothers, George Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Clyde Anderson and Leslie Anderson. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. James Morgan officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at New Sweden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in Rosella’s memory to New Sweden Historical Society.
