SANDY POINT – Mildred L. Miscall, 94, died Sunday, March 22, 2009. She was born Jan. 26, 1915, in Bangor, the daughter of Waldo and Cynthia (Bennett) Pooler. Mildred graduated from John Bapst High School in 1931 and then attended Secretarial School. She moved to Albany, N.Y., where she married Darwin Miscall; they were married for more than 50 years. They moved to Sandy Point in the early-1960s and remained there until her death. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Women’s Alter Society. She was active in community affairs; a member of Sandy Point Community Club, Mildred served on the board of directors of Waldo County Community Action Partners, she was a long-term cancer survivor and a member of the Maine Ostomy Association. She is survived by a daughter, Christena L. Lundy of Hollywood, Fla.; a son, Peter Miscall of Denver; as well as six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Darwin in 1987. Family and friends will gather for visitation 4-6 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Franklin Street, Bucksport, with Father Richard McLaughlin, celebrant.
