CUSHING – William J. Polk, 82, died peacefully Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center, Rockport, after a long illness. Family and friends are invited to visit 2-4 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland, where a Masonic service will begin 3 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at the funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Sawyer officiating. A reception will be immediately after at the funeral home’s 104 Limerock St. facility. A committal at German Cemetery, Waldoboro, will be announced in the spring.
