EAGLE LAKE and FORT KENT – Gilman Marquis, 54, died unexpectedly March 25, 2009. He was born April 28, 1954, at Eagle Lake, the son of Alsime and Yvonne (Saucier) Marquis. Gilman will be remembered for his time at home and for the love of his dog. He enjoyed time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Verna (Smart) Marquis of Eagle Lake; three children, Christine Marquis of Bristol, Conn., Theresa Marquis of Eagle Lake and Brad Marquis of Eagle Lake. He is also survived by 11 brothers and sisters, Edmond “June” of Wallagrass, Philip of Eagle Lake, Rolande and her husband, James Pelletier, of Eagle Lake, Anita and her husband, Gerald Frenette, of Lewiston, Shirley and her husband, Roger Bouchard, of Fort Kent, Leo Paul of Eagle Lake, Leonide of Eagle Lake, Edgar of Bristol, Conn., Judy and her husband, Wayne Carrier, of Monchaug, Mass., Norman and his wife, Diane, of Auburn, and Armand and his wife, Ofelia, of Roseville, Calif.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Roland; and one sister, Geraldine Marquis Friends may call 8-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Committal services will be held May 15 at the parish cemetery.
