LUBEC – Loren Walter Lank, 54, died unexpectedly March 25, 2009, in Lubec, as a result of a boating accident. He was born May 31, 1954, on Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, the son of Judson and Vesta (Wilson) Lank. He loved fishing and being on the water. He was a big man with a big heart and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed gardening and making pickles. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He survived by his wife, Florence (Thistlewood) Lank; his children, Paula Moores and companion, Robert, Donna and husband, Jimmy Lyons, Barbara and husband, Johnny Rice, Clifton Flynn and companion, Emily Norton, Gordon Flynn, and John Flynn; two sisters, Carla Fishwick and husband, Jimmy, and Stephanie and husband, John Milbury; a sister-in-law, Bessie and husband, Roy Kelley; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be greatly missed by his dog, Willey. Loren will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and even though he is gone, he will be forever in our hearts. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Christian Temple Church, Lubec, with Pastor Gary Look officiating. Burial will be after at Split Hill Cemetery, West Lubec. Those wishing to make donations in his memory may do so to Bessie Kelley, 3 Thistlewood Lane, Lubec, ME 04652, to help the family with Loren’s final expenses. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
