CARIBOU – Donald R. Wood, 82, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009, at his residence. He was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Nashua, N.H., son of Ralph and Lillian Wood. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. He was married to Julie A. Lahaye, June 14, 1947. He was employed by Cary Medical Center for 21 years as head of the radiology department and at The Aroostook Medical Center for another 16 years as head of their radiology department. He also loved to take pictures as an active photographer. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Randall F. Wood. He is survived by his loving wife, Julie A. Wood of Caribou; a son, Douglas J. Wood; a daughter, Deborah A. Craine and her husband, Michael E. Craine; a daughter, Cathy M. McDonald and her husband, James M. McDonald; a son, Jonathan P. Wood; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou.
